about
Photographing is an act of reproduction, at the same time selfish and regenerative. It is partly a vain attempt to keep the most vivid of moments in play, hoping to fortify the balance of sensation against the insistent corrosion of the forgettable. There is also the loving part, the bestowing of kind attentions on so many things otherwise fated to suffocate among the polychrome entanglements of random stimulus.
I try to see photographs as inward consummations rather than outward determinants because, in practice, whatever is most alive scatters quickest before a greedy camera.
equipment and materials
The photos on this site were made using a traditional 35mm film camera, usually a Leica rangefinder, loaded with various black and white films. I do my own developing and printing.
